Ornellaia bolgheri superiore tenuta ornellaia Alcohol content 14.5% vol. Made FROM Cabernet Sauvignon 65%, Merlot 30% AND Cabernet Franc 5% grapes. The wine was matured IN barriques (70% new) FOR 18 months, THEN IN glass FOR 12 MORE months before release. The colour IS dark ruby red WITH a beautiful luminous tinge ON the rims. Complex AND fascinating bouquet, WITH opening notes OF plum,cherry, berry jam, graphite, balsamic, sweet tobacco, spices. THEN we recognize cocoa, notes OF earth, dried rose, leather, rhubarb AND finally fruits. IN the mouth it IS soft, mouthfilling, warm AND WITH an excellent taste progression. Tannins ARE silky AND elegant AND acidity IS still present. Good minerality AND flavour. Infinite persistence . Great wine that will maintain its characteristics even FOR many years. Best WITH spiced lamb cooked IN a wood-fired oven, roast rack OF venison WITH mountain herbs, Bitto cheese aged AT least three years.

un vino che merita
ho portato questa bottiglia ad una cena tra sommelier e ho fatto un figurone. molti di loro non l'avevano mai assaggiato e sono rimasti a bocca aperta x la sua complessità e per il suo bellissimo color rubino. ho fatto un figurone! non costa poco, devo ammetterlo, ma almeno una volta nella vita va assolutamente sentito. anche io che non sono un intenditore l'ho saputo apprezzare e gli ho dato il valore che merita
